Our fish and chips are a perfect example of how good the traditional British take-away should be. We use only the finest ingredients, and we remove all the pin bones from our fish.
History
During the industrial revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries, there was a huge drift in the population from a largely agricultural based economy to towns where the new industries offered consistent employment. By the mid 1800's street Vendors were selling battered fish and fried potatoes seperately in the streets and alleys of towns and ports throughout the country.
London boasts the first fish and chip shop. Opened in 1860 in Cleveland Street by Joseph Malin. Mossley in Lancashire opened one in 1863 with a sign reading "This is the first Fish and Chip shop in the world!" But who cares who started it. Good fish and chips are the oldest ready cooked meal and takeaway in England.
